Final Thoughts
For the Kings to see the postseason this upcoming year, a lot has to go right. Fans can expect certain players on the team like DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay to fulfill their roles nicely, but there are other players on this team that fans hope will up their game. These fringe players will help take this team another step forward in the right direction.
To me, there’s no question that Ben McLemore, Rajon Rondo, and Willie Cauley-Stein are the top candidates to be significant X-factors this season. Whether it’s their talent or experience in the past, each of these players has the ability to better their game this upcoming season.
In an ideal world, I would like all three to live up to their potential, and that might actually be a possibility. But for some reason my gut is telling me it’s unlikely.
On a final note, the Kings could lock in two of these three players to step up their game this season. I would find that scenario to be more realistic, and would consider the Kings chances of postseason play to greatly increase if two of these X-factors come through for Sacramento. Fingers crossed.
