The Sacramento Kings shocked their fan base when by taking zero point guards in the first round of last week’s draft.
This came as a shocker mainly due to the fact that the Kings may be in dire need of a point guard going into next season.
Right now there is a lot of uncertainty at the point guard spot for the Kings. Rajon Rondo, the Kings starting point guard last season, is an unrestricted free agent this summer and might be due for a big payday after coming off a resurrecting season with the purple and white.
A price tag that the Kings may be hesitant to offer.
Then there is Darren Collison, who the Kings could have banked on to orchestrate the offense going forward, but the recent news of his domestic violence case makes his future in the NBA very unclear at the moment.

The only legit point guard that looks certain to be on the Kings roster next season is Isaiah Cousins, who was drafted in the second-round by the franchise just last Thursday.
Unless he is the next Isaiah Thomas, the Kings will be looking for their next starting guard through free agency or trade this offseason.
It seemed like the Kings were preparing to live life without Rondo, but based on everything that has happened pertaining with the Kings point guards, Rondo returning back to California’s capital may be inevitable as time moves forward.
Vlade Divac and Rondo have both expressed at least some consideration for a reunion in previous interviews.

Rafe’s Thoughts
I think that the Kings are going to try hard to bring back Rondo for the right price. How do I feel about this? It’s a “meh” for me.

Yes, Rondo was a mannequin on the defensive end and was a turnover machine at times, but he also played a significant part in the Kings offense last season, which was ranked 3rd in the NBA in points scored per game, and was a leader towards his teammates as well.
I wouldn’t consider it bad at all if Rondo came back, even if it was on a long-term contract. If the Kings could pick up defensive assets to surround him with (campaigning for Courtney Lee), then it could balance the backcourt out a bit.

I know that Kings fans may not like the idea of Rondo coming back, but considering the reputation that the Sacramento Kings have and how they performed in the draft, is there a better option out there at point guard? Maybe Vlade could shock the Kings community once more.
