The Sacramento Kings will have some tough decisions to make this offseason and maybe the most intriguing situation is how they will address the two-guard position.

Last season the Kings hoped that their group of two-guards would be efficient until season’s end, but unfortunately the collective group underachieved.

This group contained Ben McLemore, Marco Belinelli, James Anderson, and Seth Curry. This group had the expectations of becoming a team of marksmen for the purple and white, but that was not the case.

Right now the Kings have at least two shooting guards on their roster: McLemore and Belinelli. Not too long ago both Curry and Anderson opted out of their contracts with Sacramento in pursuit for a better financial opportunity.

The Kings, I’m assuming, will be in the mix to reacquiring Curry for next season. For Anderson, not so much. But should the Kings also focus on potentially splitting ties with either McLemore or Belinelli?

For me, if given the situation where I would have to let go of one I would say Belinelli. In my opinion, Belinelli has better trade value than McLemore at this moment. Belinelli has shown through his 9-year career that he can shoot the ball at an efficient rate (Career 3P% of 37.9%) when putting in the right system, and there will be teams interested in the Italian shooter if put on the market.

Also, with the hiring of Dave Joerger as Sacramento’s new coach, I think could benefit McLemore immensely. Joerger has a reputation of bringing out the best of his players, and it would be interesting to see what he could get out of McLemore who has all the tools to be an effective player, but just needs the right tutoring in knowing how to utilize his skills.
