Opinion: Omri Casspi Had His Best Season Yet
By Peretz Cohen
Omri Casspi is currently a backup small forward for the Sacramento Kings.
He is a team player and actively works on bringing the team closer together. The trip he took with his teammates on last summer shows how strongly he feels about them and believes in them. He takes losing personally and always has his eye on the championship prize no matter how dismal.

With the addition of Coach George Karl and the trust he placed in him, a new Casspi emerged, confident and reliable. He returned to his tough-as-nails attitude that brought him into the league, but with a softer touch.
His three-point shooting reached epic proportions and placed him before the All-Star break with the 5th best record in the league.
GM Vlade Divac compared his three-point shooting efficiency to taking layups . Below you can enjoy a highlight reel of a game in which he basically challenged the reigning MVP Stephen Curry to a three-point shootout. The clip comes complete with Grant Napear’s and Jerry Reynolds’ amazing reactions.
I believe that his earlier ups and downs in the league helped him focus on developing his attitude and game. I also believe that the situation in Sacramento, while not optimal for us, helped him in his development and endurance.
With the team in disarray, he was able to stretch the limits of what he could do and see what needed to be improved on in his game. Under the gloom of misfortune, a player with character emerged and he definitely rose to the occasion; never giving up on his teammates and the city of Sacramento.
A highlight of a Kings-Mavericks game in March, I believe, shows quite nicely how far he has come. ( at 0:44 seconds )
