This season it has been disappointing for the Sacramento Kings, but today they were able to feel some pride as their big man DeMarcus Cousins was placed on the All-NBA 2nd team.

Other players that received this honor as well were Chris Paul (Los Angeles Clippers), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors), and Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers).

Although it is an honor to be placed on the All-NBA 2nd team, there was the question whether Cousins should have been awarded the top spot for the All-NBA 1st team. The player that was rewarded this spot was DeAndre Jordan from the Los Angeles Clippers.

Looking at the individual numbers, Cousins is better than Jordan. But looking at the team accolades, Jordan out beats Cousins.

There is a good debate that Cousins should have been placed above Jordan for the top Center spot in the NBA, and basketball fans throughout social media also believe it as well. Here are some of the responses that the ARP team was able to gather up.

Rafe’s Thoughts

I know a subjective Kings fan is about to vent, but I too agree with the responses listed above. DeAndre Jordan played a big part in the success that the Los Angeles Clippers earned this season, but really, is he a player that you would want to lead your franchise, which in my opinion is what being on the All-NBA 1st team implies?

If you had the opportunity to build an NBA team and had to pick between Jordan and Cousins to be your franchise player, who would you pick?
