One of the biggest upgrades that the Sacramento Kings need to enhance this Summer is the two-guard position.

Going into this season it seemed like the Kings had a pretty solid group of shooting guards to work with, but unfortunately, they either were unable to live up to expectations or were underutilized.

One of the biggest questions that the Kings might have to face pertaining to the shooting guard situation is whether they want to trade three-year player Ben McLemore.

When McLemore was originally drafted by Sacramento back in 2013, fans were ecstatic that their team might have found their prototypical “3-and-D” player. However, throughout McLemore’s first three years in the pros, it has been a whirlwind.

In his rookie year, he encountered the inevitable rookie struggles, and as a result finished the year averaging just 8.8 points per game on 37.6% shooting from the floor and 32% from the perimeter.

In his sophomore season, McLemore showed progression by starting every game and averaging 12.1 points per games on 43.7% shooting from the court and 35.8% from the three-point line to conclude his second season.

Finally, we come to this season where another leap of improvement was supposed to be expected from the former Kansas Jayhawk, but instead it turned nightmarish for McLemore.

With the mixture of inconsistent play and minutes granted gamely, McLemore took a step back from his previous season and finished this year averaging just 7.8 points per game on shooting 42.9% from the court and 36.2% from the perimeter.
