What The Sacramento Kings Should Do With Their Draft Pick?

After the NBA Draft Lottery concluded last Tuesday, it’s official that the Sacramento Kings will have the 8th overall pick in this year’s draft.
With this pick now in the arsenal for the Kings this offseason, there are many directions that Vlade Divac and the front office can do to utilize it.
An obvious direction to take is that the Kings can stay put at the #8 spot in the draft and invest the pick on a prospect to their liking that is available when they are on the clock.
The Kings could also trade the pick to either go higher in the draft and pick up a big-time prospect or trade down in the draft to potentially gain better assets. Possibly even trade the pick for a player already in the NBA that they feel is more valuable.

Whatever the Kings do with their first round draft pick is uncertain at the moment, but one thing that is for sure is that Sacramento needs to make the right decision in whatever they do.
If they decide whether to draft a player at #8, trade up/down in the draft or trade for a player already in the league, the decision needs to benefit the purple and white going forward.

The NBA Draft doesn’t start until June 23, so the Kings definitely have time to go through their options on what they want to do.
Rafe’s Thoughts
For me, I would stay at the #8 spot in the draft, but it depends really on who is available in when the Kings are on the clock. If a player like a Kris Dunn, Jaylen Brown, or fingers crossed, Buddy Hield are available for the picking, I would probably pull the trigger on any one of them at this time.
