Seth Curry this season showed that he doesn’t need his last name to prove that he belongs in the NBA.
In the final 11 games left of the excruciating season that the Sacramento Kings just endured, Curry was a bright spot in the mess as he averaged 15.2 points per game on 46.8% shooting from the court and 48.4% from the perimeter. He finished the season averaging 6.8 points off 15.7 minutes per game while shooting 45.5% from the floor and 45% from the three-point line.
Although Curry stepped up big time for the Kings in his late-season opportunity, did his success actaully hurt the Kings when everything is said and done?

Not too long ago Curry opted out of his contract with the Kings as he had a player option going into next season. His now expired contract had a total value of just under 2 million dollars in a duration of 2 years. He would have made just over 1 million dollars next year if he opted for his player option (per Spotrac).
It doesn’t take a business savant to recognize that Curry’s decision to opt out of his contract was a wise move.
Curry can definitely play and can become an asset to an NBA team, which is why the Sacramento Kings won’t be the only organization in pursuit for the services of Curry this offseason. The question is however what is a fair value to offer the youngest Curry of the clan to come to Sacramento?

For me, offering Curry a contract value of around 15-18 million dollars over three years seems like a good risk to take.
Yes, his sample size in the NBA is small, but one thing that Curry showed this season was that he has been gifted with the same bloodlines as his older brother Stephen and his father Dell, as he can shoot the basketball at a high and consistent level.
