Sacramento Kings To Interview Dave Joerger Today
By Rafe Wong
Dave Joerger was released of his coaching duties yesterday by the Memphis Grizzlies organization, but it didn’t take long for the now free agent head coach to get an interview from another NBA team.
The Sacramento Kings have had a broad and lengthy search for their next leader of men, and the list of candidates will extend even further as it is reported that the Kings will have a face-to-face interview with Joerger today about the head coaching job (per ESPN).
Although Joerger was just fired yesterday, it seems that the Kings front office have been interested in Joerger for quite some time, as Marc Stein jotted down on his recent article on the issue.

"The Kings, sources say, had become increasingly intrigued by the idea of hiring Joerger away from the Grizzlies over the past week, but only now can the parties truly get to know each other in the wake of Saturday’s events. -Marc Stein"
Even before coming into today’s interview, there seems to be mutual interest between both the Kings front office and Joerger as well. In the last 24 hours, there have been many reports on social media that the idea of the Kings hiring Joerger to be their next coach is as close to inevitable. Here are some tweets about the situation.
Nothing is concrete yet, but based on the reports that have been out it seems like Joerger will lead the Sacramento Kings into next season. With the survey that was posted on our Twitter account, if Joerger going to Sacramento became a reality most of you would be pleased.

Joerger throughout his three-year tenure with the Grizzlies earned a record of 147-99 and has successfully clinched the playoffs in every season he has coached. Vlade Divac is hoping Joerger can rub some of that magic onto his team come next Fall.
