When Seth Curry first signed with the Sacramento Kings last offseason not much was expected.
With the assumption that Ben McLemore and Marco Belinelli were going to contribute the majority of the two guard play it was expected that Seth would be seeing most of the season on the bench and from time to time would come in if the Kings needed shooters on the court.
Although Curry hasn’t had much time on the court this season (averaging 15.2 minutes in 43 games), he has received an upgrade in minutes as of late and has taken advantage of the moment.

So far in this late-season opportunity, Curry has shown that he can be a consistent scorer and also help on the defensive end as well. But on Monday night against the Phoenix Suns Curry unleashed a part of his game that he has kept locked to an extent.
Without the services of Darren Collison and Rajon Rondo the Kings had a shortage of point guards in last night’s game. With Curry taking on the role by default he showed that not only that can he score the ball, but also distribute.
To recap last night’s contest, Curry finished the game with 15 assists, nine of those assists were distributed in the first half. He finished the game with 20 points as well, which recorded his first career double-double. Some of these passes/highlights will knock your underpants off.
As the final games continue to count down for Sacramento this season Seth Curry continues to impress the organization and their fans with his play. He is starting to develop into a solid player in the NBA and a fan favorite here in Sacramento.
Hopefully, he continues his tenure with Sacramento. With the Kings not getting much production in the shooting guard position this season, having a young and promising player like Curry would help a great deal for the Kings going forward.

According to Spotrac, Curry does have a player option for next season. So, if he accepts the option he will wear purple and white next season. However, if he doesn’t accept the option the Kings should try hard to convince him to re-sign with the team when he hits the free agent market.
