Last night the Sacramento Kings reached 30 wins for the first time in eight years in a 120-111 win over the Washington Wizards. But like most things with the Kings (especially this season), there’s always some bad news along with the good.
At the very end of regulation, while the Kings had the win in hand with six seconds left, they received three technical fouls. DeMarcus Cousins was the recipient of one of those techs.
Rajon Rondo drew a double technical and was ejected. This is why the Kings can’t have nice things.

Cousins and Rajon Rondo each received techs for “clapping” at a ref after he called an “inbound violation.” For Cousins, it was his 16th technical foul of the season and if it is upheld it will automatically earn him a one-game suspension.
And now, the good news: DeMarcus Cousins tallied 29 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks. This marks the first time in DeMarcus Cousins’ career that he’s won 30-plus games in a season.
The Wizards are still hopeful about making the playoffs this year but the lottery-bound Kings might have helped to spoil those hopes. Washington seemed tired out on the court in their second straight loss this road trip.
Sacramento has won three of the last four games. They were dominant and led for most of the game. A lot of people are asking: where was THIS team earlier in the season?
Rajon Rondo had 15 points and 11 assists. Darren Collison added 13 points and 10 assists. Coming off the bench Kosta Koufos tallied 12 points. Overall, Sacramento’s bench contributed 49 points.
Seth Curry started once again but struggled to find ways to contribute. He finished with five points. Rudy Gay and Omri Casspi each scored 15 points.
Sacramento shot 56 percent, making 8 of 18 3-pointers.
For the Wizards, Otto Porter drained four from beyond the arc and finished with 20 points. John Wall struggled with his shot making only 4 of 16 . He finished with 14 points and 13 assists.

The Kings will host Miami on Friday, probably without DeMarcus Cousins. Which means we will not be seeing a Boogie/Hassan Whiteside showdown.
