The Kings started the first quarter continuing their defensive woes as they trailed 26-30 at the end of the first quarter. The second period wasn’t much better as Sacramento allowed Chicago to score 29 more points which resulted in the purple and white trailing 59-51 going into halftime.

Players of the half for each team were DeMarcus Cousins for the Kings and Taj Gibson for the Bulls. Cousins was able to score 10 points and grab 12 rebounds while Gibson tallied 14 points.

To enter the second half the Kings were able to hold the Bulls to scoring just 23 points for the quarter, which helped Sacramento get back into the game trailing just 82-81 after three.

The Kings were then able to gain the lead in the fourth with 6 ½ minutes left in the game, but the Bulls were able to make a little rally of their own which propelled them to win the game in the end.

The Kings record is officially now 27-43 and the chances that the purple and white will make the playoffs this season are pretty much done. It will have to take an epic win streak for the Kings and an epic meltdown for one of the current playoff suitors in the West for Sacramento to see more basketball after April 13.

The Kings will have to wait until Wednesday to rebound back as the team will travel to Minnesota to face off against the young Timberwolves. The Kings this season have already played the T-Wolves twice and have lost both times.
