The Sacramento Kings are currently riding a five-game winning streak. The last time the purple and white were able to accomplish this feat was not too long ago back in the 2014-2015 NBA season.

However, the last time the Kings were able to string six wins together was all the way back in January of 2005. They have the opportunity to achieve this goal tonight as they face the Charlotte Hornets in Sleep Train Arena.

The Charlotte Hornets started the season fairly strong but have struggled recently resulting in producing a 21-23 record.

Tonight is a game that the Kings should be favorable to win, considering that they are playing their best basketball so far this season and are playing in front of their home crowd.

Like what was mentioned above, the Kings are playing great basketball. They are starting games out strong, playing solid on both ends of the floor, and playing with a lot of purpose and effort.

Really, if the Kings are able to play like they have in recent games, they should come out of tonight’s game with a win no problem. But Kings fans know that when their team plays against winnable opponents it’s not so easy.

A fan of any other team would be thrilled to see their team looked as the favorite to win, but for the Kings, it’s not so cheery. Throughout the majority of the season, the Kings have shown to play well against teams superior to them only to decline their level of play against teams that are inferior.

Tonight will be a good test for the team to see if they have actually figured things out for the better.

If they are able to execute well and get a win tonight, it would be a convincing sign towards fans beleiving that the Kings can make a legitimate run for the postseason.

The Kings have conquered a lot of new feats this year. Already they defeated the Thunder in Oklahoma City for the first time ever, defeated the Atlanta Hawks for the first time since 2008, and now have the chance to record a six-game winning streak for the first time since 2005.

Simple, if the Kings can replicate how they have been playing during their win streak, they have a great chance of acheiving something they haven’t done in over a decade.
