The focus of this year's NBA Draft is primarily on the first round, particularly the top ten. That's no surprise as that's where the big names are. But the Sacramento Kings have two second-round picks to work with, one of which they should considering using on a potential steal at 34, Trevon Brazile.
In 2025, there's no question that the Kings drafted well. They chose Nique Clifford at 24, and getting a player of his caliber that deep in the first round is a win by anyone's standards. If they continue his rapid development, he will be up to NBA speed in basically no time at all.
Things got even better for Sacramento in the second round as they grabbed Maxime Raynaud at number 42. He was, without question, the steal of the 2025 Draft. Based on how his rookie season went, he should have been picked up in the top ten. Even the Kings passed on him in the first round.
Sacramento did as well when signing the undrafted Dylan Cardwell to a two-way contract. He wasn't expected to be a big player in the draft, but the Kings saw something in him and it has already paid off. He's now an integral part of the rebuild. The same could be true of Brazile.
Brazile is the kind of forward the Kings need to run with their young core
As it stands, the FanSided mock draft completed just after the NCAA withdrawal deadline has Brazile going 43rd to the Brooklyn Nets. That puts him between the Kings two second-round picks at 34 and 45. It's an opportunity to select him earlier or take a chance on getting him later.
There's no doubt that Brazile would be a good fit. He's a 6'10" fifth-year senior coming out of the Arizona Razorbacks program. This 23 year old forward is known for his incredible defensive versatility, spacing the floor well with three point shooting, and high speed in transition.
He sounds like the kind of guy who is ready to run with a young crew that has Clifford, Raynaud, and Cardwell at it's core. While he could be a great late-round pickup for the Kings, he could also end up being a great undrafted signing. There are no guarantees anyone even takes him.
Brazile is a young forward who has five years of seasoning in college. He's ready for the show. Put him on a two-way contract, watch him feast in the G League, and bring him up to the main roster permanently once some cap space is opened by moving Domantas Sabonis and/or Zach LaVine,
