The 2024-25 regular season has not been kind to the Sacramento Kings. Not only are they 11-12 and not even in the play-in tournament if the regular season were to end today, but they also can't hit a three to save their life (24th in 3-point percentage) and are the least healthy they've been since head coach Mike Brown came to town (but hey, at least they aren't the Philadelphia 76ers!).
With all that said, this season has gone pretty well for De'Aaron Fox. Yeah, his team hasn't been living up to expectations, but he's playing some of the best basketball of his career.
Despite playing with more scoring than he has in his entire career, Fox is averaging a career-high in PPG (27.2). He's also scoring at the second-most efficient rate of his career, posting a true shooting percentage of 59.2% (Fox's career high is 59.9%). Oh, and there's also the two-game stretch where he scored a combined 109 points. If Fox keeps up his current pace, a second career All-Star berth is well within his grasp.
Fox isn't just balling on the court. His off-the-court life is going pretty well, too; particularly as it pertains to his shoe game.
De'Aaron Fox makes the cover of SLAM magazine
In case you didn't know, in 2023, Fox joined Curry's shoe brand with Under Armour. This offseason, it was announced that Fox would be creating his own signature shoe under the Curry brand umbrella: The Fox 1.
And now, Fox is living out the dream of many basketball players growing up: airing his signature kicks on the cover of the revered SLAM Magazine.
Fox is now one of over 30 NBA players with their own signature sneakers. The “Happy Fox Day” version of his new shoe will be available for purchase on Friday, December 6. Adult sizes will be going for 120 dollars, while grade school sizes will go for 100 dollars.
The "Happy Fox Day" colorway is inspired by one of Fox’s favorite Christmas movies, Jingle Jangle. The other two styles are the “Light the Beam” (inspired by the Kings' ritual after every victory) and “Happy Fox Day Alt" (inspired by the aforementioned move and Fox's favorite color: green) colorways.
