Comedian Hasan Minhaj is a diehard Sacramento Kings fan, and he highlighted frustration with Marvin Bagley in his recent Reddit AMA.

There are very few celebrities who claim the Sacramento Kings as their favorite NBA team, but Hasan Minhaj is one of them.

The comedian is the host of the popular Netflix show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhajwhich currently has new episodes up on the platform. Minhaj is also a dedicated and diehard Kings fan, which he often mentions in his work and appearances. He was born in Davis, California and graduated from UC Davis.

Minhaj hosted an “AMA” (Ask Me Anything) session on Reddit on Monday afternoon, answering questions from fans while promoting the return of his show. He answered questions on topics ranging from the show itself to his process for creating it, as well as some fun personal inquiries like whether he prefers roti or naan.

But there was one question that was posed that stuck out like a sore thumb to Kings fans, given that it is a sore subject.

The questioner asked, “What do you think of Marvin Bagley? How good do you think he’ll be?”

Minhaj’s response:

"Too early to tell with injuries, I just think he’s gotta slow down with the mixtapes. Sometimes I find myself wishing he was a Slovenian 6’7” former Euroleague MVP. Couldn’t tell you why."

Brutal, yet honest. No matter his level of celebrity, Minhaj is one of us, He thinks like a fan, and is hurt like fan. The same things that bother us about the Kings front office dealings bother him, and apparently he’s not afraid of hiding it.

Not only does Minhaj seem hesitant to answer due to Bagley’s injury record, but he also takes a shot at his dedication to music production. Some say that Bagley needs to focus further on conditioning and development rather than his rap career, and their frustration is warranted given his lack of on-court production. (I personally think he cares more about his pregame outfit than his performance, but that is neither here nor there.)

Minhaj drives home the dagger with his last statement, wishing that Bagley was instead Luka Doncic.

Don’t we all, Hasan. Don’t we all.
