Should The Sacramento Kings Take A Chance On Tacko Fall?
By John Kelly
Tacko’s Chances Of Making It
This is not the Manute Bol Era where low-post players stayed in the paint to protect the rim. Otherwise, I think Tacko Fall would go in the first round.
Any team that takes a chance with Tacko will have a guy that can rebound the ball and protect the rim. For a man as tall as Tacko, he is not a lumbering giant as you would expect. He did play pick and roll defense enough to get by in college.
I think there will be a team willing to see if he can create problems with his height and wingspan. For Tacko, five-minute stretches could help a team succeed.
Second-Round Picks Gives Vlade Options
The Sacramento Kings have shown they will take chances in the draft. The 2016 draft proves this notion. With three second-round picks, there are not enough spots on the roster for the Kings to keep all of them.
With a team full of youth to develop already, this puts the Kings in a position to use one of their picks on Tacko and then send him to work in the G-League for a couple of seasons. For Divac, it is a low risk-high reward deal. Fall could work his way to the NBA and be productive if he is put in the right direction.
