Reason #3: Bolsters Wing Position
For the Kings to become a playoff-caliber team, they need to fill the current holes on their personnel. The small forward position has been a major hole on the Kings’ roster since Rudy Gay left the team. Last February, however, the Kings did a solid job in bolstering it up with the addition of Harrison Barnes. But with that said, improvement is still needed.
The signing of Tobias Harris would not only fill a hole on Sacramento’s roster but would also be a massive upgrade in terms of talent and versatility.
Having both Harris and Barnes gives the Kings a ton of depth at a position that needs to be strengthened in today’s NBA. With both Harris and Barnes on the roster, and able to play both the three and four positions, it also gives the Kings the ability to play big or small depending on the opponent they are facing.
Just imagine the different kinds of lineups Luke Walton can create if Harris was on the roster? Imagine the Kings playing a lineup of De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Tobias Harris, Harrison Barnes, and Marvin Bagley III on the court next season? Now that would be a lot of damage.
