It was expected, but it is official now that Sacramento Kings’ rookie Marvin Bagley III is now part of this year’s All-Rookie First Team.

The Sacramento Kings were a pleasant surprise this season. A team that was projected to win around 25 games ended up with a 39-43 record and were just one spot back from competing in the playoffs.

The big reason why the Kings were such a pleasure to watch this year was because of the rise of their young talent. One of these talents being Marvin Bagley III.

Last year, the Kings took a gamble on selecting Bagley with the second overall pick in the draft, and as a result, he gradually became a better player and had Kings fans believing that stardom is in his future.

Not only was the Kings community high on Bagley this season, but others in the NBA world too as it is now official that Bagley is a member of this year’s All-Rookie First Team. Other rookies that made the list were Deandre Ayton, Luka Doncic, Trae Young, and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Final Thoughts

It was expected, but it is still good to know that Bagley’s play this season was appreciated by the NBA community overall.

For the campaign, 62 games, Bagley averaged around 15 points and eight rebounds per game while making over 50% of his shots from the floor. Not only did Bagley show that he belonged in the NBA this season, but that he has the chance to become one of the top players in the league in the next few years.
