With tough decisions ahead for the Sacramento Kings, should one of them be whether Bogdan Bogdanovic is part of their future?

The Sacramento Kings are in the next step in their rebuild. After surprising the league with a 39-43 record this season, the next step is to make the playoffs. Anything short of that would be considered a bust.

So, how can the Kings finally end their postseason drought? Well, a better roster would increase those chances. There is no doubt that the purple and white have a ton of young talent on their roster that showed to get better through time. But with that said, should Vlade Divac and company be banking on that talent going forward?

To be specific, should the Kings decide to split with some of the players in their young core? A guy that the Kings’ front office could consider is Bogdan Bogdanovic. Last season, Bogdan played a big role for the Kings as he was a playmaker whether it was with the starting lineup or second unit.

Although Bogdan was a valuable piece for the Kings last season, the guard position is pretty deep for Sacramento and there are holes in their roster that need to be filled. So, with that being said, would taking the risk of trading Bogdanovic to be beneficial for the Kings?

Should The Kings Put Bogi On The Market?

The Kings should at least have Bogdan’s name thrown in the market. Bogdan is a guy that most NBA teams would love to have on their roster which could lead to them to offer Vlade a pretty good deal in exchange for the Serbian star.

I am not saying that the Kings must trade Bogdan this summer, but rather see what the market is for him. If an offer does come up where the Kings could fill some holes on their roster with good talents (examples: rim protector/wing defender), then I think letting go of Bogi would be a good risk to take.

There is no doubt that Bogdan Bogdanovic has been a fun and valuable player for the Kings since he joined the team in 2017. But for the Kings to continue taking steps forward in their rebuild, sacrifices have to be made.
