Sacramento Kings’ rookie Harry Giles wants to prove to everyone, especially his doubters, that he belongs in the NBA.

The regular season is almost here for the Sacramento Kings as their opener begins this Wednesday against the Utah Jazz. There is a lot to be excited about for this season if one is a Kings fan. Although the team as a collective whole might not be very good this campaign, it will be fun to see the development of their young talent. One of the talents that the Kings and their fans are most excited about is Harry Giles who will begin his NBA career on Wednesday.

A lot of hype has surrounded Mr. Giles this last year. Although the Kings selected him with the 20th overall pick in the 2017 draft, he was actually considered one of the top talents in his class. But multiple ACL injuries have stalled Giles from being an asset on the court.

Now that Giles is healthy, he is ready to make an impact with the Kings this season. Due to his injury woes, he has been under the radar from the national media. But that is ok, according to Giles.

Do Not Count Out Harry For ROY

Prepare to see a solid rookie campaign from Giles. During preseason play, he was definitely one of the best players on the Kings due to his versatility and consistency. In six games, Harry averaged 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per contest. He also recorded the third-best defensive rating out of his teammates with a 107.7.

It sounds crazy due to how loaded this year’s draft class is projected to be, but do not count out Giles as a serious candidate for the Rookie of the Year Award. With one redshirt year under his belt and now completely healthy, he is ready to make his mark in the NBA immediately.
