NBA Draft Lottery 2018: Will De’Aaron Fox bring the Kings luck?

The NBA Draft Lottery takes place on May 15, and De’Aaron Fox is representing the Sacramento Kings.  Will Fox bring the team luck and move them up?

NBA Draft Lottery night brings fans and front offices hope.  14 teams are all trying to move up in the draft to change their future.  There is the wishing of securing a franchise player and the wanting to return to the playoffs.

The Sacramento Kings are one of those franchises this season.

May 15 brings the draft lottery.  The Kings currently sit at seventh overall and have a 5.3 percent chance of moving into the top selection.  The first three picks get chosen on lottery night, so even vaulting up into any of those spots would be a significant victory.  Perhaps, De’Aaron Fox is the lucky charm that propels Sacramento upward.

The Kings chose Fox to represent them during the ESPN telecast.  The organization has faith that Swipa the Fox is lucky.

Kings moved up to pick him

Sacramento was selected to pick third last season in the lottery.  They moved back to fifth because of a trade the Kings made with the Philadelphia 76ers.  Philly had the right to swap picks with Sacramento in 2017 and they did.

The Kings used that fifth overall selection on De’Aaron Fox.  They moved up when choosing Fox, so can he be the representative when Sacramento vaults to number one overall?  Hopefully, that is the case.

Second win

The Kings won the lottery in 1989.  Sacramento selected Pervis Ellison out of Louisville with the top pick.  History needs to repeat itself 29 years later in the 2018 draft lottery.

Final thoughts

Hopefully, De’Aaron Fox brings the Sacramento Kings luck in the 2018 NBA Draft Lottery.  The Kings are building an exciting young core, but adding a superstar level talent with the number one overall pick sounds excellent.  Keep your fingers crossed that Sacramento moves up.
