The Sacramento Kings selected De’Aaron Fox in the 2017 NBA Draft.  This article gives the Kings a grade on that pick and a reaction to the pick.

The Sacramento Kings selected the player the rumor mill had going to them for months at fifth overall.  The Kings draft De’Aaron Fox, a point guard from the University of Kentucky.  This article gives that selection an instant draft grade and a little reaction to the pick.

Draft Grade- A+

Reaction

De’Aaron Fox’s rumors to the Kings were for good reasons.  Sacramento was in desperate need of a point guard and specifically a young point guard to build around.  They now have their man in Fox.

I love Fox for his speed, driving ability, and potential on defense.  The former Wildcat is the fastest player in this draft.  He is skilled in the pick and roll and exceptional at using his speed to get to the rim.  Fox will be a fun player for Kings fans to watch for years to come.  To see his game check out the highlight video below.

De’Aaron Fox needs to improve his shooting and add some weight to reach his full NBA potential.  He is still just 171 pounds, and a bit of extra muscle will improve his NBA game.  To read more about De’Aaron Fox’s game check out our prospect profile found here.

Final Thoughts

The Sacramento Kings made the expected and perfect pick at fifth overall.  De’Aaron Fox is now the Kings point guard and leader for years to come.  Count me in as excited and hopeful that Fox leads Sacramento back to the playoffs shortly.
