The important 2017 NBA Draft has come and gone, and the Sacramento Kings walked away with an impressive group of prospects. They turned their three picks into four after trading down from pick ten. The Portland Trail Blazers surrendered picks 15 and 20 overall for the right to move up and select Zach Collins from Gonzaga. That left the Kings to pick at five, 15, 20 and 34 overall in the draft.
Today, we will take a look who the Sacramento Kings selected with those picks including a brief overview of their draft as a whole. Then, I will finish up with some final thoughts. Without further ado, let us roll right into it.

Kings draft overview
Sacramento did very well in the 2017 NBA Draft. I gave the Kings an A draft grade, and I was thoroughly impressed with the plethora of talent they selected.
Amazingly, they drafted both for need and best player available in most spots. I mentioned there three needs were at point guard, a defensive wing, and a floor spacing big man. They filled two of these requirements and snatched up a big man with immense talent even if he cannot stretch the floor. The Kings did exceptionally well in this draft. The whole organization deserves some kudos for their work.
Final Thoughts
The 2017 NBA Draft was a night filled with trades and the usual excitement. We saw the Kings select their point guard of the present and future. The night included All-Star Jimmy Butler getting shipped to Minnesota and Sacramento even got in on the trading fun. The draft was a good night for the Kings, and hopefully, they can ride that moment into free agency. Let us hope they round out their roster in style and are a competitive squad in 2017-2018.
