The Sacramento Kings formally introduced their new head coach in Dave Joerger yesterday, and for the most part, he made a great first impression in front of the Kings community.
No doubt the introduction to Joerger and learning about his perspectives of the team were the main points to take away from yesterday’s conference, but another piece of information that is significant to take in is the mention that Vlade Divac plans to give Joerger the ability to build his own coaching staff, meaning the current assistant coaches on Sacramento’s staff will inevitably be let go. Vlade mentioned in the press conference on the assistant coaching situation:
"“I’m going to let them go, unfortunately, and going to leave Dave a clear situation to bring in whoever he wants.”"

The current assistant coaches, originally hired by George Karl, are consisted of Anthony Carter, Chad Iske, Nancy Lieberman, John Welch, and Corliss Williamson. Vance Walberg was also on the coaching staff to start the season before being fired last February.
Vlade later had time to elaborate on his comments by stating:
"“I want to make sure that Dave has a clear path,” Divac said. “Definitely Corliss (Williamson) and Nancy (Lieberman) and some of the other guys are going to stay, and I’m going to talk to John (Welch) and Chad (Iske) about their future.”"
CSN Bay Area’s James Ham also piggybacked on Vlade’s quote by stating in his article that the Kings have officially let go of Iske and Welch, and Williamson and Lieberman’s statuses remain uncertain for the time being (per CSN Bay Area).
So Kings fans, what do you think about the Kings sticking with either Williamson, Lieberman, or both going forward? Do you think Vlade should keep them on board or clear the decks for Joerger to choose his full staff? We would like to hear from you all on the issue. With their fresh new rebrand, arena, and now head coach, the word “new” has definitely been the theme for the Sacramento Kings this offseason. But in terms of assistant coaches is being completely new the best direction to take?
