The Sacramento Kings will add on to their list of head coaching candidates, but this time, they are adding a familiar face.
It was reported yesterday by multiple sources that the Sacramento Kings will indeed conduct an interview with Corliss Williamson, aka “Big Nasty”, sometime in the near future (per Sacramento Bee).

As a player Williamson started off his career in Sacramento as he was drafted by the franchise back in 1995. During his two separate stints (1995-2000 and 2005-2007) wearing purple and white, Williamson averaged 10.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game (per Basketball Reference).
As a coach, Williamson has had coaching experience with Arkansas Baptist and Central Arkansas at the collegiate level and in the NBA has been an assistant coach with the Kings since 2013.

For me, I say it cannot hurt to give Williamson an interview. He has been around the team since 2013, and probably has developed a good sense of each of the players since then, especially current All-Star player DeMarcus Cousins.
The Kings are continuing their broad search for their next coach, which is what it should be because they need to get it right eventually. The next head coach hired will be the 9th coach that the Kings have hired since letting go of Rick Adelman in 2006.
So Kings fans, what do you think of the former King getting an interview for the current coaching vacancy available? Would you want to see Williamson lead the Kings as coach next season in their new area? We want to hear from you.
