The Sacramento Kings will not play again until next Fall, but some of their players might be playing some important games around August.
As the 2016 Summer Olympics are nearing, the United States basketball team has yet to make their final cuts for the team. Twenty-nine players still remain to fight for the 12 spots available on Team USA’s roster, and two of those players are the Sacramento Kings very own DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay.

Other players that are competing in playing in the Summer games are LaMarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony, Harrison Barnes, Bradley Beal, Jimmy Butler, Mike Conley, Stephen Curry, DeMar DeRozan, Andre Drummond, Kevin Durant, Kenneth Faried, Paul George, Draymond Green, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Gordon Hayward, Dwight Howard, Andre Iguodala, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, DeAndre Jordan, Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, Kevin Love, Klay Thompson, John Wall and Russell Westbrook (per ESPN Basketball)
According to ESPN’s own Marc Stein, the revealment of the final 12-man roster should be released in late June (per ESPN Basketball).
With this being said, do Cousins and Gay have a legitimate shot at representing their country and the Kings organization in one of the biggest events in the history of sports? We want to hear from you Kings fans.
In my opinion, I think Cousins has a good shot at making the final 12. Cousins is one of the best offensive big men in the game today and in these last two seasons he has shown to be a good rim-protector as well.

For the case of Rudy Gay, I don’t foresee him wearing the red, white, and blue this Summer. Players in his position like a Paul George, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard will most likely be ahead of him (eliminating injury) when the final selections are made.
