Sacramento Kings Finally Taste the Forbidden Fruit of Winning

As they traverse the land of fields and farmhouses, the Sacramento Kings were searching for the elusive elixir known as winning. Well, they finally found that elixir in the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis against the equally struggling Indiana Pacers.

In a lot of ways, it was fitting that the Kings would snap their eight game losing streak in the land of fields. After all, this was the same place where Mo Williams went off for 52 points to stop the T-Wolves 18 game losing rut.

The Kings’ didn’t have a player go off for 52 points, but the Kings did have Rudy Gay on his game tonight. Gay, who probably had enough of the losing that has entrenched the Kings for the past two months, unleashed all of his frustrations on the offensively Pacers, going for 31 points, and was a big reason why the Kings staked a 64-50 lead at the half.

But in true Kings fashion, the Kings had to make us endure a horror show in the second half. After ripping off 64 points in the first half, the Kings scored only 35 in the second. But thankfully, the Kings finally decided to play a little defense, holding the Pacers to just 43 points. Yes, the Pacers are a black hole on offense, but you have to take the positives where you can get them.

Of course, the Kings’ Nation rejoiced in our first victory in over two weeks:

Hey, we are not weird. We deserve this victory, and we deserve to dance mind you!

So now that the Kings’ have tasted the forbidden fruit that is victory, what next lies for the boys in purple? A home date with the Golden State Warriors, of course. But let’s hope Klay Thompson doesn’t bring his offensive game up Interstate 80 on Tuesday night.

But before we worry about Klay and the gang, let us tear up this forbidden fruit, and make wine out of it. The Kings have won! And it is a joyous time indeed!

So let us celebrate and be merry, and hope this doesn’t happen again on Tuesday night:
