Sacramento Kings Media Day
Lots of stuff went down yesterday during the Kings annual media day session. And while it wasn’t as eventful as past years, there were some interesting nuggets which I’ll touch on below. Big props to the Kings for continually thinking outside of the box and broadcasting the entire Media Day session on U-Stream as well. As to the events of the day: Geoff Petrie is undecided about his future with the Kings. He has had no contract extention talks with the Maloofs and would not comment on a return to the GM position. He did however state he’d like to [...]
Sacramento Kings Offseason Workouts
It’s getting close to the season and that is giving me a basketball boner. And while it’s still pretty boring, well, past the whole random Desmond Mason signing, here is a little video from KingsFlix to get your basketball pants a little snug. And yes. That small bald character you see is indeed Bobby Jackson. And no. The dreaded large man is not Mikki Moore. You can stop vomiting.
NBA Refs Strike – Fans Rejoice!
NBDL refs really can’t be much worse, can they? Wait. Don’t answer that. And really? I just wanted an excuse to post this gif….and/or a reason to start cutting my wrists again.
Jason Thompson – A Secret Weapon?
Well, according to SI.com, he just might be. Thompson was named with Amir Johnson, Martell Webster, Ryan Anderson, Randy Foye, Carl Landry, and Brandon Rush as the most likely breakout candidates for this upcoming season. Jason Thompson, Sacramento: Thompson has been competing outside the spotlight since the Kings drafted him 12th in 2008. But that’s nothing new for someone who played college ball at Rider University in the MAAC. Thompson developed into one of the best rookies few seemed to know about last year, and is in a position to have a big sophomore season. He cracked the Kings’ starting [...]
Kings Sign Desmond Mason
Well, you can file this one under the WTF category. Desmond Mason. Really? REALLY? No, he doesn’t really suck and it’s a pretty small price to pay (1 year, 825,000 to be exact), but with the amount of depth at the SG/SF slots…especially youth, the move really seems odd. Is it a pre-cursor to a potential trade? One might think so…because from a pure roster standpoint, we really didn’t need Mason or his career 26% from the arc, despite his potential high flying dunks. So, to me, this brings a few topics up. For one, it looks like Bobby Jackson [...]

Rashad McCants Is An Asshole
Long story short. Rashad McCants is an asshole. He’s really not that good at basketball. He’s selfish. And he devotes all of his time on Twitter talking about skee-hoes, chickenheads, gold diggin hoes, and Hanson’s mmmbop song (Okay, maybe I added the last one. That shit was catchy though). Anyway, last night…Donte Greene, Jason Thompson, and Sean May were doing their normal tweeting on Twitter…when this actual conversation took place, via Sactown Royalty: Sean May (@BigMay42), 7:49 PM: Watching a little football steelers vs titians Jason Thompson (@jtthekid), 7:53 PM: At the monarchs game wit my boys @dontegreene n woo [...]
Kevin Martin’s New Nike Shoes
Pretty fancy, no? Tres Kerrbee of SneakerFiles.com got some pictures of player exclusive Air Jordan 23′s, and this particular pair was made for non other than our local stud and Team Jordan member, Kevin Martin. Good luck finding these at your local Foot Locker. Thanks to Ziller for the link.
While it might have been a difficult year for the Kings record wise, the Kings organization (and Monarchs) continue to impress when it comes to off the court activities – especially when it involves the fans. Kings Vice President of Business Communications Mitch German, as well as other members of the organization, have made themselves very available for fans and bloggers throughout the season and off-season, taking the time to listen and communicate. As not only a blogger for the Kings, but as a basketball blogger in general, I’ve communicated with all 30 teams before, many times, and I can [...]
Tyreke Evans – The “Emergency” Point Guard?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock or masturbating too much, I’m sure you’ve taken a quick peek at Sac Bee columnist Ailene Voisin and her article on Tyreke Evans being the “emergency” point guard. Now, to me, this makes zero sense. Going up and down the Kings roster, there is one magnifying position that just reeks of crap. Guess what position that is? You got it! Point guard! Yes, I am fully aware that Tyreke is not your prototypical point guard (and I’m aware of our need for one, with our current roster), so I don’t ever expect him [...]
