After getting the breaks beaten off them by the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Sacramento Kings will look to put an end to their recent skid (losers of four of their last five) against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who, before their recent loss, had won five games in a row.
But who will the Kings have available to them in this game? What about the Timberwolves? Here is the full injury report ahead of tonight's showdown.
Sacramento Kings Injury Report
As the headline suggests, the big name that everyone is wondering about is newly-acquired two-guard Zach LaVine. Last night, the Kings pulled off the second blockbuster trade of the weekend, trading De'Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, and Jordan McLaughlin to the San Antonio Spurs/Chicago Bulls for Zach LaVine, Sidy Cissiko, and a bunch of draft capital. Will LaVine be available to suit up for the Kings tonight?
While neither LaVine nor Cissiko are listed on the Kings' injury report, it is doubtful that either of them will play in this game. The trade took place right around 8:30 PM EST last night, and considering that doesn't even give them a 24-hour turnaround for this game (tipoff is set for 8:00 PM EST), it seems unlikely that they will be ready to make their debuts tonight.
The only names listed on the injury report are two-way guys who are not a part of the main rotation (Isaiah Crawford and Colby Jones). They will be out tonight, filling in their G-League responsibilities.
Minnesota Timberwolves Injury Report
On the season, the Timberwolves have been arguably the healthiest team in basketball. According to Spotrac, they have lost the fewest amount of dollars to injuries. That means that their best/most expensive players are hardly missing any time. This game against the Kings will be a deviation from what has been the status quo for them this year, though.
The Timberwolves have four rotation players listed on their official injury report. Julius Randle (groin) and Donte DiVincenzo (toe) are both listed as out for this game. Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards (illness) and Naz Reid (finger) both carry the designation of questionable. So, they have roughly a 50/50 chance of playing in this game.
After this game, the Kings return home to host the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, February 5.
