Wednesday was a busy day for Sacramento Kings fans, because they got a bit of news trickling out from inside the team.

First of all, there was a rumor that DeMar DeRozan could be on the move, possibly to the Miami Heat. Then, we heard that the Kings might be thinking of adding Tyus Jones to their lineup in the summer. On top of all that, there is still some speculation about Domantas Sabonis and others on the team. The Kings could be changing a lot this summer.

Or maybe not at all. If these latest rumors are to be believed, this might not be the blockbuster offseason some fans had hoped for.

The Kings may make only minor adjustments this summer

Losing DeMar DeRozan would certainly be a change for the Kings, even though he's only been in Sacramento for a single season. There is no doubt that the Kings would be smart to test the waters and ship him to another franchise, especially if they could get a lot in return.

But, can they? In reality, what sort of package would be sent back to the Kings for DeRozan? A few roleplayers, maybe some picks as well. It could help the Kings, but it wouldn't be a game-changer.

As for adding Jones, that could certainly improve the team's depth in the backcourt. But, again, he will not bring the kind of monumental change that some fans were hoping for. DeRozan's replacements could help, and Jones could too, but it probably wouldn't move the needle much.

This brings us back to an argument that is ensuing among Kings fans: should the team go big or go small this summer? Should they blow things up, start over from scratch with a rebuild, or try to ride it out with the crew they have now? Those who want a full-on rebuild are probably unhappy about the lack of solid rumors regarding Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and others. They want a fire sale, one that empties the Kings out, preparing them for a long but ultimately successful road to success.

And those who feel the team can still be playoff contenders and only want little changes are probably excited by this news because it means the Kings probably aren't going to do anything too drastic. Change things? Yes. Break it all down and start anew? That's unlikely.

These latest rumors mean something, and they could end up being the right choice for the Kings. But they suggest that the front office isn't interested in shaking things up in a big way, at least not now. However, the offseason has a way of making teams change their minds. So even though they might be looking at just small tweaks right now, their plans could be revised in the next few weeks.
