There's only one name on that list.

Ever team in the NBA has a list of untouchables. These are the players who they wouldn't even consider trading. Well, unless they get an insane Luka Doncic offer like the Lakers did last season. In a situation like that, every option is on the table.

For fans of the Kings, they would likely assume that list would include a few names. Naturally, Domantas Sabonis would be on it as well as Keegan Murray, Zach Lavine, and Malik Monk.

In truth, that list is likely a lot shorter than fans think. These days, the Kings' untouchables trade list probably only has one name on it and that's three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis.

Domantas Sabonis is their top dog

Not that long ago, point guard De'Aaron Fox was the face of the franchise. The only other contender to that fictitious throne would have been Sabonis. They were a solid duo for several years, making the Kings a team to pay attention to every season.

With Fox's departure to the Spurs halfway through the 2024-2025 season, that left Sabonis as the man in Sacramento. He has the numbers and the gameplay to back that claim up.

Domantas averaged 19.1 points, 13.9 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game on an average of 34.7 minutes. Oddly enough, he's not much of a shot blocker. Still, he's a strong presence on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court, not to mention the top rebounder in the NBA.

The Kings would need a major offer

After losing Fox, it would be shocking for the Kings to trade Sabonis. Even if they opt for a ground up rebuild of their roster in the next few seasons, something they should consider, Sabonis will remain part of the team. He's the only Kings' player with that untouchable status.

That being said, fans, players, and pundits learned anything is possible in the NBA last season when the Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the Lakers out of left field.

That means for the right price, the Kings might still be willing to talk about the theoretically untouchable Sabonis. For that to happen, someone the caliber of Nikola Jokic or Giannis Antetokounmpo would have to be on their way to Sacramento.
