Just when you think the Sacramento Kings have sunk as far as they can go this season, the franchise finds a way. After last night's loss to the Magic, the Kings now own the longest losing streak in 2025-2026. On top of that, this team now has the longest losing streak in franchise history. Yay?

If you're going to compete at something, the goal is usually to be the best at it. In the case of the Sacramento Kings, they are the best in the league at being the worst. They reaffirmed this status last night against the Orlando Magic, losing to them by a score of 131 to 94.

Unfortunately, it was yet another blowout loss in a season overflowing with them for the Kings. There was some hope that they would come out of the All-Star break with a new attitude to match the returning Keegan Murray. That was most certainly not the case, as it was the same old scene.

During the first half, the Kings were competitive, and the game was still within reach at halftime. The usual pattern for Sacramento is to then have the wheels fly off their game in the second half and lose by a lot of points. To their credit, the Kings are nothing if not consistent.

The Kings find a new low this season

Sacramento rode into the All-Star break on the back of a 14-game losing streak that fans were praying wouldn't get longer. But after last night's loss, that losing streak is now 15 games long, and the Kings are firmly at the bottom of the league with a record of 12 wins and 45 losses.

Not only do they have the worst record in the league, but Sacramento now owns the longest losing streak of the 2025-2026 NBA season. They have eclipsed the previous record holder, the Washington Wizards, who had the previous record this season at 14 straight losses.

There are actually two things that make it worse. First, this is now the longest losing streak in the history of the franchise, which is pretty much just salt in the wound for the Kings. The second thing is even worse because this losing streak is going to get longer.

The Kings' next game is against the San Antonio Spurs, an incredibly tough team that stomped Sacramento back in November. In reality, this streak is going to get to 16 losses, if not more. It honestly wouldn't be a surprise if Sacramento lost every game they have left this season.
