Kings' fans are concerned about Scott Perry's social media posts for one reason

His posts are strange.

If the rebuild rumors are true, and they hopefully are, the Sacramento Kings have a lot of work to do. At the center of that is general manager Scott Perry, who has a penchant for posting motivational content on social media. His rambling posts aren't giving fans much confidence in his rebuild focus.

While Perry has collegiate history both as a player and a coach, his time in the NBA has always been as an executive in the front office. He started his career with the Detroit Pistons in 2000, helping build the team that won two Eastern Conference Championships and an NBA Championship.

Perry actually spent one year with the Seattle SuperSonics, playing a part in drafting Kevin Durant to the team. His tenure in Seattle was brief before returning to the Pistons for another run, this time as the vice president of basketball operations.

From Detroit, Perry would go on to spend time with the Orlando Magic and the New York Knicks before being named the general manager of the Sacramento Kings. He inherited the mess left behind by the previous front office, having a lot of problems to fix and not much in the way of means to do so.

Scott Perry isn't inspiring Kings' fans

No one is doubting Perry's skill in a basketball front office or his resume as a qualified general manager. The problem is his #MondayMotivation posts on X. They all have this vibe about failure leading to success and not doubting the path you're on, even when others do.

The problem is that he's the general manager of a three and 11 NBA franchise that's in the midst of a six-game losing streak. Waxing philosophically about it on social media might not be the right choice for the team's most visible front office executive and the man tasked with fixing the team's problems.

To say that fans aren't responding well might be the understatement of the 2025-2026 NBA season. You just have to read through their comments on X to see how frustrated they are with the perceived lack of action in stopping this sinking ship from ending up at the bottom of the Pacific.

If this is Perry's mentality, cool. There's nothing wrong with that. At the same time, posting incessantly about it on social media might not be the way to go. It makes fans think he's fine with what's happening to the franchise, and that he doesn't take fixing its problems seriously.
