The Sacramento Kings are fresh off a huge win against one of the best teams in the Western Conference in the Houston Rockets. However, if they plan on fully turning their season around, they need to build off that game and turn it into a win streak.
Their next opponent is the formidable Memphis Grizzlies, who are led by their star guard Ja Morant. Morant is an incredible offensive threat, but his reckless style causes him to be a regular on the injury report. So far, he's already missed 10 of the team's first 22 games.
Will the Kings have to deal with this downhill force? Who will the Kings have available to them? Here is the full injury report ahead of the game.
Sacramento Kings Injury Report
After going through a rough patch on the injury front, the Kings are getting back to the trend of good health they have endured over the last two games (*knocks wood aggressively*). The only player in their normal rotation currently listed on the injury report is Trey Lyles.
Lyles is out with the calf strain he suffered against the Oklahoma City Thunder last week. Lyles won't be getting re-evaluated until the end of the month. So, there is a good chance we won't see him for the rest of 2024.
Notice how we said the only player in their "normal rotation." The Kings are still missing their 2024 first round draft pick, Devin Carter. Carter has yet to have a chance to crack the rotation, as he's spent the entire first portion of the season recovering from an offseason shoulder injury.
Memphis Grizzlies Injury Report
Despite his track record for injuries, Morant is not on the injury report heading into this game (per ESPN). But the Grizzlies still have their fair share of missing players. After all, they are currently fourth in the NBA in player games lost to injury (per Spotrac).
For this game, the Grizzlies will be without Zach Edey (ankle), GG Jackson (foot), and Vince Williams Jr. (ankle). The closest of that trio to returning is Edey, who was called down to the Memphis Hustle this week to ramp back up into shape.
After this game, the Kings will immediately travel to San Antonio to play the Spurs in their second leg of a road back-to-back.
