Did the Warriors-Grizzlies game just do the Kings a huge favor?

We all know that everything is on the line for the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. If they lose in their play-in game to the Dallas Mavericks, the season is done and they get to "enjoy" a long summer break.

But if they beat the Mavericks, the Kings will then face the Memphis Grizzlies in the final game of the play-in tournament. The Grizzlies fought a hard battle on Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors, but just couldn't get it done.

One of the biggest pieces of news from their loss to the Warriors was the injury suffered by Memphis superstar Ja Morant. He hurt his ankle during the game, continued to play, but was clearly in pain. After the defeat, he made a statement that raised a few eyebrows and perhaps raised the Kings' chances of beating Memphis.

Ja Morant says he'll play on Friday , but could that change?

Morant suffered his right ankle injury after landing awkwardly on Buddy Hield of the Warriors. His pain was obvious right away and there was speculation that he could spend the rest of the game in the locker room. But he mustered enough strength to play the rest of the game, ending the night with 22 points.

But he was clearly hurt and was seen limping at times. After the loss, Morant told the press that he was going to play in the next game and acted as if he wasn't very worried about his ankle.

If Morant really is ready to play on Friday, the Kings will have to be prepared for his special brand of offensive explosiveness. He won't go easy on them. But there is a chance that Morant won't be able to suit up for the game or could be limited when he does.

Morant has suffered multiple injuries this year, appearing in just 50 games. He only played fewer games once in his career: last season, when he sat out all but nine games because of suspension and surgery.

If he doesn't play on Friday, the Kings will have a much easier time beating the Grizzlies. Morant is the team's leader and most important offensive star. He can also be incredibly hard to guard because of his speed and ability to shoot from all over the court.

There is also the possibility that Morant does play but isn't 100 percent healed or injures himself even more. If that's the case, the Kings will have to capitalize on the Grizzlies' plans being thrown out the window

Of course, even if Morant is out, the Kings will have their fair share of challenges. The Grizzlies have had to figure out their identity without Morant because of his many absences, and they are fully capable of winning when he's on the bench. Yes, they wanted to play the Grizzlies over the Warriors, but the Kings need to be on high alert. The worst mistake they could make would be to feel too confident because Morant isn't able to play.

Morant says he'll be there on Friday, but a lot can change between now and then. He will surely visit the team's medical staff before the game, and we can expect to hear more about his status then. The Kings will be paying close attention.
