The Sacramento Kings underwent a great deal of change during the trade deadline. In the span of five days, the Kings made three trades – saying goodbye to five players (including a franchise icon) while also bringing in three new faces.
However, if there was one team that ushered in a greater change than them, it was the Dallas Mavericks, who, after making the NBA Finals last season, traded away the man most responsible for getting them there in Luka Doncic.
Now, the two teams face off in a Monday night showdown. But who will each team have available to them? In this post, we break down the entire injury report heading into the game.
Sacramento Kings Injury Report
After a rocky start to the season in this category, the Sacramento Kings have been a pretty healthy team this season. The only two players listed on their injury report right now are Devin Carter and Isaiah Crawford, and the only reason they are on there is because they aren't playing because of their G-League assignment.
Crawford has been a fixture in the Stockton Kings' G-League rotation all season. So, seeing his name on the report is not surprising at all.
Carter, on the other hand, has been playing consistent NBA minutes since his return from injury. However, in the Kings' recent win over the New Orleans Pelicans, he didn't play at all – likely because of all the new faces being integrated into the lineup ahead of him. The Kings probably figure that it is better for now to let Carter get minutes on the G-League team than ride the bench at the NBA level.
Speaking of new faces, Zach LaVine, Jonas Valanciunas, and Jake LaRavia will all be in uniform.
Dallas Mavericks Injury Report
The main returning piece of the Doncic trade was Anthony Davis. When healthy, Davis has been an MVP-caliber two-way force. The issue is that he struggles to stay healthy all the time.
Unfortunately for the Mavericks, tonight is one of those times, as Davis will not only be out for this game with a left abductor strain, but he's likely going to be missing several weeks. That is probably not the way you want to kick off the post-Doncic era.

Outside of Davis, the hobbled Mavericks have six other names on their injury report. Dereck Lively II (ankle), Caleb Martin (hip), and Dwight Powell (hip) are all listed as out. Meanwhile, P.J. Washington (ankle), Max Christie (shoulder), and Dante Exum (Achilles) are all questionable. In general, this means a player has a roughly 50/50 chance of playing in the game.
