It's been eluding them all season.

The Sacramento Kings now have a four-game win streak, one of the longest active win streaks in the NBA. And they did it by finally finding a rhythm as a team. The Kings legitimately looked good last night, both on offense and defense. There is a legitimate flow to their game, which fans are loving.

During the course of the 2024-2025 season, the Kings took a number of hits that were hard to deal with. That included firing a head coach, trading their top point guard, and rotating their front office. It was the result of years of dysfunction and mismanagement from the top down.

With a new head coach and front office in place, limited changes to the roster began. But it was hard to get anything going while the team was getting absolutely hammered by injuries. So far, Domantas Sabonis has only played a total of 12 out of 42 games this season, which isn't preferable.

All of this led to a rough first half of the season, with the Kings sitting at eight wins and 30 losses not that long ago. A week later, the Kings are riding a four-game win streak at home with the momentum to extend it. They finished out that first half of 2025-2026 with the rhythm they had been lacking.

The Kings have found an actual rhythm on both ends of the court

First and foremost, Sacramento has a legitimate defensive flow that fans have not seen in a long time. It's not just coming from the rookies or Precious Achiuwa, either. Zach LaVine, Domantas Sabonis, and DeMar DeRozan are putting in solid defensive efforts.

On offense, the Kings have more weapons than ever. DeRozan is shooting well, LaVine has a reliable rhythm, and Achiuwa is becoming a real threat. The bench in general has been great, particularly Malik Monk and Dennis Schroder, who recently returned from his three-game suspension.

The most important part of this is that defense is flowing into the offense, then back onto defense. There is a real rhythm across the court, which is how they have secured their longest win streak of the season. Next up on the schedule are the Blazers, a team the Kings are capable of beating.

It's not time to start planning to raise a championship banner quite yet. Cautious optimism is the name of the game for Sacramento fans. At the same time, the Kings are in a really good place right now, and that is something everyone should be savoring.
