3 Reasons Harry Giles Will Be With The Sacramento Kings Next Season
By Rafe Wong
The Sacramento Kings have declined Harry Giles’ option for next season. But here are three reasons why he will sign back with the purple and white.
The Sacramento Kings look like the joke of the NBA again. In just over a week, the team is #-# for the year due to their lack of effort which has caused many fans to turn their backs towards the team. During these struggles, the fanbase has questioned the decision-making skills of their team’s front office, and with Vlade Divac‘s latest move, the faith continues to slump.
Not too long ago, the Kings announced that they accepted the options for De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III which will keep them on the team for the 2020-21 season. The move was a no-brainer as both guys have been publicly known as the core of the franchise going forward. The shocking move, however, was when the Kings did not pick up the option for three-year pro Harry Giles. With this decision, Giles becomes a free agent once the season is over.
Although Giles was not expected to be the Kings’ main guy going forth, he was still believed to be part of the main core due to the potential he has. But now that the Kings have declined his option, his tenure with the Kings is in jeopardy.
Kings fans may be losing one of their fan-favorites when next year comes around. But I still think there is a good chance that the purple and white can retain Giles for next season and beyond.
