Barnes will shoot 40% or better from three

Barnes eclipsed 40% from the three-point line in his 28-game stretch with the Kings, but has only reached that mark over a full season once. That was during the 2014-15 season when he was with the Golden State Warriors. Though Barnes has only gotten over 40% once, he has hovered around average or better from behind the arc for his entire career.

Barnes shot well in Sacramento because a large number of his threes were set up in the flow of the Kings’ offense which resulted in a lot of open looks for Barnes. This is similar to how Barnes was used with the Warriors when he was often shooting catch-and-shoot looks from the corner. There is a reason to believe that Barnes will get a healthy dose of open threes this season.

With the number of shooters the Kings have on the roster currently, Barnes should continue to get a ton of open looks from distance. Luke Walton said he wants the team to attempt at least 35 threes a game. You would figure a decent chunk of those will be coming from Barnes. Ideally, I would like to see Barnes average around five or six attempts from three a game.
