Point Guard: De’Aaron Fox
Out of the five positions that the starting lineup has to offer, this choice was the most obvious. There is no doubt that De’Aaron Fox should be the Sacramento Kings’ starting point guard when Scott Moak announces the group on opening night.
When the Kings selected Fox with the fifth overall pick in the 2017 draft, the motivation behind the decision was for him to eventually become the franchise’s starting point guard for many years to come.
So far, in two seasons, Fox has made great strides in achieving that vision. In his rookie season, Fox faced growing pains but also showcased flashes of his potential. And in his sophomore season, Fox displayed that potential on a more consistent basis as he averaged around 17 points and seven assists per game.
Right now, Fox is on a steady pattern of improvement, and there is confidence that he will continue to get better in his third year.
With Fox already being named the “franchise guy” and showing he can facilitate the Kings offense at an efficient level, he will for sure be given the starting point guard role to begin the season.
