Everyone in the NBA community knows that Sacramento Kings’ Marvin Bagley III is a super athlete. Which is why he should get the chance to showcase his skills in the league’s annual dunk contest.

The youngsters on the Sacramento Kings have been busy this summer whether it has been working out in the gym or participating in festivities outside of basketball.

Not too long ago, Harry Giles was on the hardwood practicing his game in the post against various NBA peers. Now, it is Marvin Bagley III’s turn to show everybody what he has been up to in the offseason.

On the Sacramento Kings’ Instagram account, they posted a video of the star rookie in the gym. In the clip, Bagley attempts a windmill dunk off a pass that someone throws to him, and to no surprise, Bagley flawlessly completes the trick play.

For the last few years, the annual NBA Dunk Contest has been a hit or miss.

There have been times where guys like Vince Carter, Jason Richardson, and recently, Zach LaVine who were able to win people’s hearts with their dunking ability. But there have also been those contests that completely flopped and took away the magic that is the dunk contest.

If the NBA wants to make next year’s contest a success, then Marvin Bagley at least needs an invite as a participant. I am not going to say here that he will be a clear winner, but he has shown in the past and his recent video that he has the capability to put on a show and entertain the fans.

Especially for a big man, Bagley would be a great participant for the dunk contest during next year’s All-Star break. Come on, NBA. Do the right thing.
