With Bogdan Bogdanovic entering an important third NBA season next fall, he wants to make sure he establishes himself as an asset for the Sacramento Kings.

The Sacramento Kings were a fun team to watch this season and a reason why was because of Bogdan Bogdanovic.

After having a promising rookie season, Bogdan continued to give the Kings a spark with his play in his sophomore year as he was a versatile player in the team’s depth chart.

For the year, Bogdan averaged around 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game while making around 42% of his total shots from the floor, 36% of his shots from beyond the arc, and 83% of his free-throw attempts.

Although Bogdan’s averages in his second season were higher than in his first, his efficiency on the court took a dip, in my opinion. During his rookie year, Bogdan had a good balance of scoring the ball as he was effective in slashing to the basket and shooting. But in his sophomore season, Bogi settled for the jump shot too much which resulted in lower shooting percentages and less opportunities to set up his teammates for scores.

Bogi Wants Change

In a recent interview Bogdan had this offseason, he mentioned how he believed he could have performed better this past season and is looking forward to improving his game this summer.

"“I was not completely satisfied,” Bogdanovic explained. “I always thought I could do better and think I still do not know my maximum.” -Bogdan Bogdanovic on his recent NBA season"

In the interview, Bogi also mentioned that he plans to focus on his dribbling, speed, and finishing ability around the rim later on in the offseason. All attributes that will help him become a better slasher to the basket.

Final Thoughts

Although I thought Bogdan Bogdanovic had a solid season with the Kings, he did not make that dramatic leap of improvement that I expected him to make in year number two.

The good news, however, is that Bogi has the determination to better himself and is looking to help the King next season with a breakout third year.

If Bogi is able to achieve his desired objectives this offseason, it would definitely add another weapon to the Kings’ roster which will increase the team’s chances of finally breaking their 13-year playoff drought.
