Player #2: Iman Shumpert
There is no doubt that Iman Shumpert has been one of the most beloved players the Kings have had in recent years. Even though Iman spent just around one season with the purple and white, he was someone that the fans admired.
With a ton of youngsters on the Kings’ roster this season, Shumpert took on the role as the veteran mentor which worked out fantastically while it lasted. Iman really made an impression on the Sacramento youngsters which I am sure positively impacted the group to make progress in their developments. And also, Shumpert’s catwalk entrances before games were always amusing to watch through the team’s social media stories.
It was obvious that Iman Shumpert was a fan favorite in the Kings community, but I did not know the love was so strong until he got traded to the Houston Rockets last February. When the news released that the eight-year veteran was heading off to Houston, it took an emotional toll on both the fans and players of the Kings.
He may not have been the best player on the team, but Iman Shumpert was a pleasure for Kings fans to watch as he was someone that loved being a King and was an impactful mentor towards the team’s young core.
