With nearly every game a must-win at this point, what else — or who else, should Sacramento Kings fans keep an eye on this weekend?

Undoubtedly the question at the top of everyone’s mind: who should I root for this weekend? The answer is — nobody, really. Well, let’s back it up a bit first.

There’s really only one way the Kings make the playoffs and that’s through knocking out the San Antonio Spurs. There exist a possibility they get in through a collapse by the Utah Jazz, but that’s incredibly unlikely. Fortunately for Kings fans, they can breathe easy this weekend. For the the most part.

The Kings obviously play today and the Spurs play on Sunday, but as a whole, this weekend is short on games that impact the Kings. Meaning this could be one of the last weekends Sacramento Kings fans can relax before the championship parade in downtown Sac season’s over.

The Spurs will be playing the Bucks in San Antonio on Sunday though, so Kings fans need to dust off their St. Patrick’s Day green a bit early and cheer on the Bucks if they want the Kings to have any shot at the playoffs. Also of note, the Minnesota Timberwolves play twice this weekend against Washington Wizards and Knicks and while they’re essentially eliminated, another loss would be the final nail in the coffin.

Speaking of coffins, the Los Angeles Lakers play Saturday too, when they’ll take on the Celtics. The Lakers’ season has been a dumpster fire of epic proportions and they’re also essentially eliminated and have waved a white flag already, but if the Kings don’t make the playoffs, finishing the season ahead of the LeBron James-led Lakers would be one sweet consolation prize.
