Sacramento Kings’ guard De’Aaron Fox participated in the NBA Skills Challenge tonight, but unfortunately, the young king was unable to hoist the championship trophy.

Sacramento Kings’ guard De’Aaron Fox has had a busy couple of days. He has been constantly talking to the media, participated in the Rising Stars Challenge yesterday, and tonight was in the NBA Skills Contest.

Other players in the challenge were Trae Young, Luka Doncic, Mike Conely Jr., Nikola Jokic, Nikola Vucevic, and Jayson Tatum.

Prior to the Skills Contest beginning, the NBA decided what the four first-round matchups were going to be. This was when Fox found out that he would be going up against Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks.

Recap

The battle between Fox and Young was an exciting one to watch. Fox had a commanding lead as he was able to complete the passing part of the obstacle a lot quicker than Young. But when the shooting (final) aspect of the obstacle came in, Young was able to make a remarkable running shot before Fox which ended the sophomore guard’s night.

Young continued on into the contest where he faced Jayson Tatum in the finals. But Young lost off a miraculous halfcourt shot made by Tatum.

It is also important to mention that Young technically did not complete the passing part of the challenge due to missing three straight times, and the Kings community noticed it right away.

Final Thoughts

Overall, it stinks that De’Aaron Fox was unable to win the Skills Challenge. But with that said, he did a great job tonight, even though it was only 30 seconds of fun.

Maybe Fox will get the chance to compete in the Skills Contest next year. And hopefully that time, he does not lose in a lame fashion as he did tonight.
