The Sacramento Kings have a bevy of young talent on their roster, and it looks like that talent is getting better by the game.
What an NBA season it has been for the Sacramento Kings and their fans. Many within the NBA community expected the purple and white to finish the 2018-2019 season with around 25 wins, but here we are, with 29 games left in the season, and the Kings have a record of 28-25.
A huge part of the reason why the Kings have been successful this campaign has been because of the play of their young talent. People already know that guys like De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, and Bogdan Bogdanovic have been the anchors for the team this season, but let us analyze the play of the other guys on the roster. The younger players that the franchise hopes can also become core assets to their future.
Young Kings Are Rolling
The guys I am speaking of are Marvin Bagley III and Harry Giles. It has been slow and steady, but the pair of Blue Devil bigs have made their presence known as of late. For Bagley, in his last five games, he is averaging over 16 points and 10 rebounds a game while making over 48% of his shots from the floor and 75% from the free-throw line.
As for Giles, his last five games have also been solid as he is contributing around eight points and four rebounds a game while making over 62% of his shots from the court. He also has been one of the Kings’ better defenders as well.
Is The Future Here?
The future may be accelerating faster than we expected, Kings fans. Even though the pair of Bagley and Giles are coming off the bench, they are still making a tremendous impact towards the team which has resulted in Sacramento’s recent win streak.
Hopefully, the two rookies can continue their wave of efficient play. Both guys have the potential to become bonafide players in the league someday. And if they are able to reach their ceilings, the Kings will definitely be back in the playoffs sooner than later.
