Sacramento Kings: Rebuild Takes Another Step Forward
By Rafe Wong
Recent NBA news made it official that the Sacramento Kings’ youth continues to make strides in their developments.
The Sacramento Kings are heavily relying on their young talent to make their rebuild a success, and it looks like that group took another step forward today.
It is still unknown whether there will be any players from the purple and white who get to play in the upcoming NBA All-Star game, but at least there will be some guys who will represent the franchise during the event’s weekend.
According to Carmichael Dave, media personality for the Kings, Buddy Hield will be a participant in the upcoming three-point contest that happens the night before the All-Star game. Buddy will not be heading to Charlotte alone either as the news also came out that De’Aaron Fox, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Marvin Bagley III have also been invited for the All-Star weekend festivities as well. But in this case as participants in the NBA Rising Stars Challenge which is the All-Star game for players who are in their rookie or sophomore seasons.
It is rare for the Sacramento Kings to gain praise from outside their community, so it is great to hear that some of the team’s young guys are getting their respect. The Kings have been a pleasant surprise this season. A team that was projected to win around 25 games this year currently has 23 with 44 games remaining in the regular season.
A big reason for the Kings’ uprise is due to their young players. Led by De’Aaron Fox, the Kings have showcased an electric and lethal offense which has made them a nightmare for opponents to prepare for. As a result, Fox along with some of his teammates will be honored when the All-Star weekend festivities happen.
Congrats on the invitations, young Kings! I know that you all will make the Sacramento Kings community proud when All-Star weekend comes along.
