With the first round of NBA All-Star votings in the books, where did Sacramento Kings’ point guard De’Aaron Fox stack up amongst the best in the league?

It has been a long time since the Sacramento Kings community can be excited about their team, and a big reason for it is because of the rise of De’Aaron Fox. At just 21-years of age, Fox is becoming a star in the making.

Due to Fox’s dynamic speed and intangibles, he has been able to facilitate the Kings’ electric offense to a tee and has made the Kings a feel-good story of this NBA season. In 37 games this campaign, he is averaging over 18 points, seven assists, and three rebounds a game while making around 47% of his shots from the floor and 39% of his shots from beyond the arc.

Fox Gets Snubbed

Even though Fox is having an outstanding sophomore season, he is still not getting love from the NBA fans. Not too long ago, the first-round results of the fan’s All-Star votings were released to the public, and Fox was left out in the list of top 10 guards in the West.

Final Thoughts

It is understandable that Fox should not be an All-Star this season, but for him to not even be considered a top ten guard in his conference is outrageous. In my opinion, there are at least two guards on the list that Fox has been playing better than this year. Those players are Lonzo Ball and Chris Paul.

To me, Fox has taken on more responsibility and has played his role better than those two this season, and the numbers also are in De’Aaron’s favor as well.

Overall, it is discouraging to see that the NBA community still has not recognized the strides De’Aaron Fox has made this year. But that is ok.

The Kings and their fans know they have an up-and-coming point guard on their roster, and through time, he is going to help their team get back to becoming a winning team.

It probably will not be this year, but De’Aaron Fox will one day represent Sacramento in the All-Star game.
