Sacramento Kings: 3 Players To Watch For Against The Bulls
By Rafe Wong
Player #2: Willie Cauley-Stein
Willie Cauley-Stein has done a solid job as the Kings’ starting center this year. In 25 games, he is averaging over 14 points, eight rebounds, and two assists a game while making over 54% of his baskets from the floor. He also has a Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 17.62.
For the Kings to have a good game, they need to be able to win the battle in the paint on both ends of the court. The responsibility does not fall solely on Cauley-Stein in this aspect of the game, but he needs to set the tone early and throughout the night. On offense, Willie needs to make his shots in the paint whether it comes from the pick-and-roll or going one-on-one against his defenders. Defensively, Willie must do what he can to protect the rim and grab rebounds at an effective rate.
Although this is Willie’s best season of his career, inconsistency is still present in his game. But if he is able to showcase his A-game tonight, it should be an entertaining contest for the Kings and their fans to witness.
